About me
I work collaboratively with my clients, drawing on tools from the humanistic therapeutic models of Transactional Analysis (TA), Gestalt and Person Centred counselling. These approaches share the belief that you are the expert in your own life challenges. I also incorporate Egan’s Skilled Helper Model, Compassion Focussed and Solution Focussed Therapy, tailoring my approach to suit each individual.
I believe that every person has the ability to create a more authentic fulfilling life and the capacity to reach their full potential. Successful therapy depends primarily on the quality of the relationship between client and therapist. As a humanistic counsellor, my aim is to provide a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly without fear of criticism or judgement about the issues that matter most to you.
I have a wealth of experience working with people from all walks of life. I spent over twenty years as a Nurse for the NHS and I bring my own rich and varied life experience to my therapeutic practice. I first accessed therapy in my twenties, and it has played a huge part in my personal journey towards self-acceptance and self-compassion.
I offer both short and long term therapy for a wide variety of issues, behaviours and feelings, with flexible sessions to suit your needs.
“You will not be able to solve anything outside until you own how the situation affects you inside.”
